Wilbur Cross looses to Hillhouse HS 9-5 on April 27, 2026

Hillhouse opened the scoring in the first after Ricardo Turner grounded out, scoring one run.

Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors took the lead in the bottom of the first. Janiel Montero doubled, scoring two runs, to give Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors the advantage, 2-1.

Hillhouse jumped back into the lead in the top of the second inning after Terrence Harris singled down the right field line, Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors committed an error, and Carmelo Ramos grounded out, each scoring one run.

Alex Coca earned the win for Hillhouse. The starter gave up four hits and five runs over four innings, striking out five and walking three. Damion Montillas took the loss for Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors. The starting pitcher went four innings, surrendering eight runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out one and walking two. Jaden Martinez earned the save.

William Santiago and Rayvel Quezada each collected two hits for Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors. Montero and Santiago each drove in two runs for Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors. Quezada stole four bases. Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors ran wild on the base paths, amassing seven stolen bases for the game. Wilbur Cross Varsity Governors turned one double play in the game.

Hillhouse tallied nine hits in the game. Martinez drove the middle of the lineup, leading Hillhouse with three runs batted in. The shortstop went 1-for-2 on the day. Harris, Kj Thompson, and Alejandro Gallardo each collected two hits for Hillhouse. Hillhouse had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game.
