CT Crush 14U defeated Performance Baseball 14U 8-0 on Monday at Montville High School thanks in part to five runs in the second inning.
CT Crush 14U got on the board in the bottom of the second inning after #23 was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, #12 singled, scoring two runs, and Ethan Jeannenot singled, scoring two runs.
A double by Jake Rusher, and a single by #11 helped CT Crush 14U extend their early lead in the third.
Ethan Chantrell earned the win for CT Crush 14U. The right-handed pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over three and one-third innings, striking out three and walking none. Damion Montillas took the loss for Performance Baseball 14U. The righty went two and one-third innings, surrendering eight runs on nine hits, striking out one and walking two.
Joey Affinito went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Performance Baseball 14U in hits.
CT Crush 14U amassed 10 hits in the game. Rusher, Jeannenot, Connor Zaneski, and #11 each collected two hits for CT Crush 14U. Rusher, Jeannenot, and #12 each drove in two runs for CT Crush 14U. CT Crush 14U ran wild on the base paths, amassing six stolen bases for the game.
Performance Baseball 14U play at home on Tuesday against Ct Titans in their next game.
