New Haven Grays vs CT Aces Black – June 19, 2025
CT ACES Black 14U tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth thanks to two doubles. CT ACES Black 14U tied the game at three on a double by Roch Bolton.
CT ACES Black 14U made the score 7-3 in the bottom of the fifth after Joey Palladino laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, Scott Morgan laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run, and Chase Olmo doubled, scoring two runs.
Grays 1 tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to a hit by a pitch, a walk by Ethan Montero, a ground out by Ethan Aceto, and a wild pitch.
CT ACES Black 14U flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring seven runs on three hits to take the lead, 14-7. The biggest blow in the inning was a walk by Olmo that drove in two.
Tavis Currier earned the win for CT ACES Black 14U. The pitcher gave up one hit and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking two. Taylor took the loss for Grays 1. The pitcher went one and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs on four hits, striking out one and walking six. Damion Montillas led things off on the mound for Grays 1. The pitcher surrendered five hits and six runs over four innings, striking out three and walking five. Shea Flaherty led things off on the hill for CT ACES Black 14U. The lefty surrendered two hits and three runs over three innings, striking out six and walking three. Josh Pelletier earned the save.
Taylor, Carmelo Ramos, Aceto, Montillas, and Montero each drove in one run for Grays 1. Montero led Grays 1 with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing nine walks for the game. Taylor and Ramos each stole multiple bases for Grays 1. Grays 1 stole seven bases in the game. Grays 1 turned one double play in the game.
Olmo led CT ACES Black 14U with three runs batted in. The infielder went 2-for-3 on the day. CT ACES Black 14U had a strong eye at the plate, tallying 13 walks for the game. Pelletier, Morgan, Jacob Walsh, and Flaherty led the team with two free passes each. Pelletier, Brayden Badia, Morgan, and Jaxon Wentworth each stole multiple bases for CT ACES Black 14U. CT ACES Black 14U ran wild on the base paths, piling up 14 stolen bases for the game.
Grays 1 welcome Milford 2 on Saturday for their next game.
