Performance Baseball 14U Stymied By 5 Star – July 15, 2025
Performance Baseball 14U had trouble keeping up with 5 Star in an 11-4 loss on Tuesday at 165 New Britain Ave.
5 Star jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after #21 drew a walk, scoring one run, #8 drew a walk, scoring one run, Mike Schirizzo induced #7 to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored, and #23 drew a walk, scoring one run.
5 Star added one run in the third after #8 singled to center field.
#12 earned the win for 5 Star. The hurler gave up zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out none and walking three. Schirizzo took the loss for Performance Baseball 14U. The starting pitcher went one inning, allowing five runs (two earned) on three hits, striking out none and walking three. #15 led things off on the mound for 5 Star. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and one run over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking none.
Josue Almonte and Ryan Farina were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Performance Baseball 14U. Drew Anderson went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Performance Baseball 14U in hits. Justin Semrau paced Performance Baseball 14U with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up 10 walks for the game.
5 Star collected 10 hits in the game. #44 drove the middle of the lineup, leading 5 Star with two runs batted in.
