Performance Baseball 14U vs Grit Orange 14U – May 31, 2025

Performance Baseball 14U couldn’t keep up with Grit Orange 13U and fell 12-2 on Saturday at Connecticut Sportsplex.

Grit Orange 13U opened the scoring in the first after Josue Almonte induced John P to hit into a fielder’s choice, but two runs scored.

A single by Shane W, and a ground out by Noah B helped Grit Orange 13U extend their early lead in the second.

Grit Orange 13U scored five runs on three hits in the top of the third inning. An error scored one run, Tyler E singled, scoring three runs, and Zach C singled, scoring one run.

Damion Montillas pitched three innings in relief for Performance Baseball 14U. The right-handed pitcher surrendered three hits and seven runs (five earned) while, striking out one and walking six. Almonte opened the game for Performance Baseball 14U. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and five runs over two innings, striking out none and walking three.

Gavin Eddy and Montillas each collected one hit for Performance Baseball 14U. Luca D’Andrea led Performance Baseball 14U with one run batted in. Pj Finch paced Performance Baseball 14U with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up six walks for the game.

E, the number seven hitter for Grit Orange 13U, led the way with three runs batted in. The left-handed hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Grit Orange 13U had a strong eye at the plate, piling up nine walks for the game. Logan B and Tristan B led the team with two bases on balls each. Nick G, E, and C each stole multiple bases for Grit Orange 13U. Grit Orange 13U ran wild on the base paths, collecting 10 stolen bases for the game.

Performance Baseball 14U will travel to Sun Rises CT Sportsplex for their next game on Sunday.
