Even though Performance Baseball 14U collected nine hits to Wilton 14u’s two, they still fell 8-6 on Sunday at 216 Foxon Rd. Drew Anderson led Performance Baseball 14U with two hits.
Wilton 14u rallied for the victory despite trailing 6-2 in the fifth.
Performance Baseball 14U opened the scoring in the first after Anderson singled, scoring one run.
Wilton 14u captured the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the first after #22 walked, and #1 walked, each scoring one run.
Performance Baseball 14U captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the third when an error scored one run, and Damion Montillas singled, scoring two runs.
Wilton 14u took the lead, 8-6, in the bottom of the fifth thanks to six walks.
Justin Semrau stepped on the mound first for Performance Baseball 14U. The righty gave up two hits and two runs over three innings, striking out four and walking six. #25 led things off on the mound for Wilton 14u. The starting pitcher gave up nine hits and six runs (one earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking four.
Montillas and Anderson were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Performance Baseball 14U. Gavin Eddy, Anderson, and Ryan Farina each stole multiple bases for Performance Baseball 14U. Performance Baseball 14U stole eight bases in the game. Performance Baseball 14U didn’t commit a single error in the field. Farina had the most chances in the field with four.
#98 and #20 each collected one hit for Wilton 14u. #1 led Wilton 14u with two runs batted in. #14 led Wilton 14u with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing 16 walks for the game.
